Berlin, 11 January 2021 A research project - "Don't give XLA time" (‘Geef XLA geen tijd’) - by our colleagues at Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) has been nominated for the Dutch ZonMW Medical Inspirator Award 2020.
The research project focuses on determining whether early diagnosis of XLA (X-linked agammaglobulinemia) results in significant health gain in terms of morbidity, mortality and quality of life. One of the aspects of this collaborative project with researchers, patients, parents and patient organization includes possibilities for neonatal screening for XLA.
Epimune's epigenetic immune cell counting technology will be included as a second tier test option for the identification of newborns with XLA.
You can support our colleagues at LUMC by visiting the ZonMW website and voting for this exciting project starting from Monday, January 11th, 2021 at 12pm (until 08 Feb 2021)!
